Job summary

A leading engineering staffing provider in Norway seeks an Electrical / Heat Trace Engineer for a contract role in Asker. Candidates should have a Bachelor degree or Technical College and a minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience, including at least 5 years in offshore projects. Knowledge of NORSOK and ATEX standards is essential. You will be responsible for overseeing heat trace cable design, coordinating with teams, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Qualifications

Job description
Electrical / Heat Trace Engineer

Contract period: 01.12.2025 - 31.12.2026
Location: Asker

Main tasks:
  • Calculate, select and oversee heat trace cable design
  • Design and follow up on heat trace requirements per P&IDs and project solutions
  • Input, update and maintain heat trace engineering register
  • Participate in inter-disciplinary meetings and coordinate between fabrication and engineering teams
  • Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliant, reliable heat tracing solutions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree or Technical College combined with minimum 12 years’ relevant experience with onshore and offshore facilities
  • Ex course (to be renewed every 5 years) If candidate has no EX-certificate, then the course must be taken as soon as possible after starting work
  • FSE with first-aid
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design and calculations of electrical heat-trace systems for offshore projects.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of electrical design according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL and IEC
  • Familiar with Aveva E3D and NavisWorks
  • Efficient communicator, who communicate well in English - both orally and in writing
  • Cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment
  • A natural team player, but possess the ability to work independently
  • Systematic and accurate, with high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
  • Proactive, seeking advice and share own experiences with others
