A recruiting company is seeking an Electrical / Heat Trace Engineer for a long-term onsite assignment in Asker, Norway. Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience from onshore and offshore facilities.
  • EX course must be renewed every 5 years if not certified.
  • FSE with first-aid certification is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design and calculations of electrical heat-trace systems for offshore projects.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical design according to NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL and IEC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations and select appropriate heat trace cable designs.
  • Design and follow up on heat trace requirements based on P&IDs and project specifications.
  • Input, update and maintain the heat trace engineering register.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and coordinate between fabrication and engineering teams.
  • Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliant and reliable heat tracing solutions.

Shape the Future of Offshore Heat Trace Engineering

Jefferson Wells is recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Electrical / Heat Trace Engineer. This is a long‑term assignment where you will be working on‑site with the client. The position requires solid experience with heat trace design and calculations, and a strong understanding of offshore standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Perform calculations and select appropriate heat trace cable designs
  • Design and follow up on heat trace requirements based on P&IDs and project specifications
  • Input, update and maintain the heat trace engineering register
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and coordinate between fabrication and engineering teams
  • Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliant and reliable heat tracing solutions
Background and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical College education combined with minimum 12 years of relevant experience from onshore and offshore facilities
  • EX course (must be renewed every 5 years). If not certified, course must be completed shortly after starting
  • FSE with first-aid certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design and calculations of electrical heat‑trace systems for offshore projects
  • Deep knowledge of electrical design according to standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL and IEC
  • Familiarity with Aveva E3D and NavisWorks
  • Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Cooperative and inclusive working attitude in a multicultural team environment
