Job summary

A leading engineering company in Oslo is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and manage high-voltage packages for offshore electrification projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience and a strong understanding of electrical systems and engineering standards. This is a full-time role based in Asker, Norway, with offshore work required and an assignment duration from January 2026 to December 2027.

Qualifications

Job description

• Design and specify electrical system solutions and strategies for projects through study, FEED, and detailed phases.
• Develop technical and functional specifications for high and low-voltage power supply packages.
• Manage high-voltage packages, including transformers, gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), and variable speed drives (VSD), from development to final handover.
• Assist in designing electrical philosophies, single line diagrams, load lists, and control system descriptions.
• Follow up on electrical system calculations, analyses, and assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on electrification scopes, including land/subsea cables and substation equipment.

Required expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience from Norwegian continental shelf projects.
• Extensive experience with high-voltage packages and offshore electrification projects.
• Solid understanding of electrical system analysis, transmission systems, and design standards (e.g., NORSOK, IEC, DNV).
• Proven track record in conceptual and detailed engineering for large-scale projects.
• Systematic, proactive, and collaborative work attitude.
• Valid FSE and basic EX certifications.
• Language: English
