Job summary

Schibsted Media AS, through Product Lab, seeks an Editorial Developer to join its small, autonomous core team. The role sits at the crossroads of journalism, technology and design, exploring how AI and emerging tech can reshape media destinations and editorial experiences.

You will prototype, test and scale new editorial concepts with real users, collaborate across editorial, product and engineering, and help push ambitious ideas into tangible, user-friendly products.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of journalism and editorial environments.
• Experience developing and testing digital editorial products with a user-focused approach.
• Hands-on prototyping with code and AI tools.
• Ability to translate between editorial and technical perspectives in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify editorial opportunities and how tech can transform journalism.
• Develop, prototype and test editorial concepts with Product, UX and Tech teams.
• Define editorial logic for new products and how AI assists humans.
• Shape editorial quality and principles, addressing accuracy, trust and independence.
• Assess feasibility, workflows, resources, and org changes needed to realise concepts.
• Connect Product Lab with Schibsted's editorial environments and brands.
