Job summary

BYD Europe is seeking an experienced Deployment & Project Manager to lead the roll-out of approximately 150 Flash Charging units across Norway. The role covers feasibility, grid connection, design, permits, construction, commissioning and handover to operations, coordinating with grid companies, contractors and internal teams.

The successful candidate will manage a multisite project pipeline, ensure compliance with Norwegian electrical and HSE requirements, and drive on-time delivery and budget

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience delivering electrical, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing projects from feasibility through construction and commissioning.
• Experience with multisite deployment programmes.
• Good understanding of electrical distribution, transformers, switchgear and grid connections.
• EV charging, high-power charging or battery-energy-storage experience is highly desirable.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers, budgets and contractual variations.
• Ability to review technical drawings, single-line diagrams, project schedules and cost estimates.
• Strong organisational, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Professional fluency in English and Norwegian.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel frequently across Norway.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple charging sites from initial assessment to commercial opening.
• Develop deployment plans, budgets, schedules, milestones and risk registers.
• Coordinate technical site surveys and feasibility assessments.
• Validate site layout, vehicle access, equipment positioning, cable routes and future expansion capability.
• Manage grid-capacity enquiries and connection applications with Norwegian grid companies.
• Review connection offers, reinforcement requirements, costs and energization timelines.
• Coordinate electrical, civil and structural design.
• Manage planning, construction, road-access and utility permits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Norwegian electrical, safety and HSE requirements.
• Select and manage engineering firms, EPC contractors, civil contractors and electrical installers.
• Coordinate equipment procurement, logistics, construction and installation.
• Monitor project CAPEX, contractor performance, quality and delivery schedules.
• Lead site inspections, snagging and corrective actions.
• Coordinate energization, testing, commissioning and backend integration.
• Ensure that as-built documentation, test reports, declarations and warranties are complete.
• Hand over completed sites to the Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Report regularly on project progress, risks, costs and key deployment KPIs.

About the role

The role covers the complete deployment process, from site feasibility and grid connection through design, permitting, construction, commissioning and operational handover.

The successful candidate will manage a multisite project pipeline and coordinate grid companies, engineering partners, contractors, suppliers, site hosts, public authorities and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:
