Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a Data Engineer to design and implement BI and large-scale data analytics solutions for clients relocating to Malta. The role requires strong Azure data experience, Power BI proficiency, and MS BI stack know-how.

You will work in a hybrid setup from Sliema with a visa/relocation package. Candidates should have 3+ years in a similar role, a CS-related degree, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Experience designing Azure data solutions.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
• Experience with the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS/SSRS/SSAS).
• Understanding of Master Data Management and data governance.
• Familiar with CI/CD and microservices approaches.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end BI and data analytics solutions.
• Design and build efficient data models and pipelines.
• Embed architecture, governance, and documentation standards.
• Translate business needs into reporting and analytics features.
• Support project scoping, estimation, and planning.
• Stay updated with new technologies.
• Follow project plans to meet objectives and timelines.
• Create technical architecture documents.
• Provide guidance to peers.
