Job summary

NSC Global is seeking a Data Centre Field Engineer to join our team in Bergen, Norway. You will install, configure, and maintain network and server hardware, manage cabling, racking, and field replacements, and support monitoring and recovery processes.

The role requires a driver’s licence and fluency in English and the local language, with a minimum of 24 months in related work and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a driving licence.
• Local language at least B2 level.
• English language proficient (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Install and remove field replaceable units (e.g., HDD, memory).
• Configure and support connectivity and high-end systems products.
• Troubleshoot and test network/server hardware and cabling.
• Participate in scheduling and adhere to procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of industry enhancements and continuous service delivery.

Responsibilities

Work Experience: More than 24 months

Sound knowledge of:

• Network and server hardware and components
• Copper and fibre cabling systems
• Equipment racking and stacking (installation)
• Installation and removal of field replaceable units (e.g. hard drive, memory, line cards, transceivers)
• Network monitoring systems and usage
• Device and database backup & restore processes
• Troubleshooting and testing
• Network connectivity
• Out of band management tools such as iLO and Drac systems

• Leadership and/or team experience
• Participate in the configuration and support of systems.

Qualifications
