Job summary

Verto People, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Centre ESG & Sustainability to lead the new ESG function for an AI infrastructure business. Based in Barbican, London, the role combines strategic development with hands-on execution to establish carbon methodologies and reporting from the ground up.

You will engage across technical, commercial and delivery teams, delivering ESG disclosures to investors and lenders while shaping environmental commitments in live data centre projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in ESG, sustainability or carbon strategy roles, ideally in infrastructure or real estate.
• Experience developing sustainability frameworks, methodologies or reporting processes.
• Comfortable delivering technical carbon, sustainability or certification work directly, not just managing teams.
• Ability to produce clear written disclosures for investor/lender audiences.
• Experience building processes and functions from the ground up.
• Understanding data centre sustainability standards and guidance.
• Familiarity with the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop carbon accounting methodologies and sustainability commitments, including net zero strategy and water usage considerations.
• Lead certification processes (e.g., BREEAM, LEED) across live infrastructure projects.
• Create ESG processes, policies and reporting aligned with industry standards.
• Prepare investor and lender ESG disclosures during function development.
• Support regional stakeholders with social impact commitments and sustainability initiatives.
• Translate technical sustainability data into clear reporting for senior/external audiences.
• Work cross-functionally to embed ESG across infrastructure delivery.
