The role requires extensive senior leadership experience across MEP systems and a track record of delivering large-scale commissioning programmes.

The successful candidate will lead high-level project meetings, guide the commissioning team, and challenge contractors while reporting to senior client representatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of the commissioning programme across MEP systems.
• Lead commissioning coordination meetings with contractors, consultants and client reps.
• Oversee commissioning strategies, programmes, procedures and execution plans.
• Manage interfaces between construction, commissioning, QA/QC and delivery teams.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Challenge technical decisions to ensure conformance with project requirements.
• Oversee documentation, testing and handover activities.
• Provide guidance to commissioning engineers and wider stakeholders.
• Represent the client in senior-level technical discussions.

Rotation: 3 weeks on / 1 week Remote (3/1)

V7 Recruitment is supporting a major hyperscale data centre development in Norway and is seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Lead to oversee and coordinate commissioning activities across the project.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership position requiring an individual with extensive experience delivering large-scale data centre commissioning programmes.

The successful candidate must be technically strong across multiple disciplines, capable of leading high-level project meetings, challenging contractors and providing strategic direction to the wider commissioning team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and oversight of the commissioning programme across Mechanical, Electrical and associated systems.
• Lead commissioning coordination, technical and progress meetings with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
• Oversee commissioning strategies, programmes, procedures and execution plans.
• Manage interfaces between construction, commissioning, QA/QC and project delivery teams.
• Monitor commissioning progress, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Challenge technical decisions and ensure contractors are delivering in accordance with project requirements.
• Oversee commissioning documentation, testing, integrated systems testing (IST) and handover activities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to commissioning engineers, managers and wider project stakeholders.
• Represent the client confidently in senior-level technical discussions.

Candidate Requirements:

• Extensive experience in senior commissioning leadership roles within hyperscale data centres or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven track record overseeing multidisciplinary MEP commissioning programmes.
• Strong technical understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical systems.
• Previous experience operating as a Commissioning Lead, Commissioning Director, Senior Commissioning Manager or Project Commissioning Manager.
• Experience working in a client-side, commissioning consultancy or commissioning management capacity is highly desirable.
• Confident leading meetings, managing senior stakeholders and making independent technical decisions.
• Exceptional written and spoken English is essential.
• Strong organisational, reporting and project management capabilities.
• Previous experience on large-scale European data centre developments is advantageous.
