Job summary

Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is seeking a Custodian to join the Facilities Security Service Department. The Custodian supports sanitary conditions for a healthcare environment across multiple sites in Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill.

The role includes cleaning duties, safety training, supervision notifications, and participation in seasonal and maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operations of the health center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two to four years of facility cleaning experience, preferably in a health care setting.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Notifies supervisor of cleanliness problems or area in need of extra attention.
• Participates in OSHA and other safety training and yearly updates.
• Notifies supervisor of need for supplies.
• Train/orientate new staff on proper cleaning procedures.
• Participates in the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities on an as needed basis.
• Watches for and informs supervisor of maintenance needs.
• Performs minor repair and maintenance to equipment and facilities.
• Assists in seasonal work such as window cleaning, snow removal and grounds maintenance.
• Participates as a Facilities Department Team Member to carry out Facility Mission Statement.
• Meets regularly with supervisor or Department Director for training and coaching.
• Becomes knowledgeable about the GLFHC Improvement plan and model for improvement.
• Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities related to performance improvement.
• Assist Custodian 3 with floor striping and waxing.
• Assist with Custodian 3 on major cleaning projects.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

(GLFHC) is a multi-site, mission-driven, non-profit organization employing over 700 staff whose primary focus is providing the highest quality patient care to a culturally diverse population throughout the Merrimack Valley. Nationally recognized as a leader in community medicine (family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics), GLFHC has clinical sites in Lawrence, Methuen, and Haverhill and is the sponsoring organization for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

GLFHC is currently seeking a Custodian. The Custodian participates as a team member of the Facilities Security Service Department in providing the best sanitary conditions for the proper functioning of a healthcare environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED
• Two to four years of facility cleaning experience, preferably in a Health Care setting.
