Job summary

Folk is seeking a Cost Estimator for an immediate start in Norway to prepare precise cost estimates for projects, tenders, and service deliveries. You will analyze specifications, develop cost structures, and evaluate supplier quotes to support profitable bidding.

You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Finance to ensure accurate budgets, risks, and opportunities are identified and communicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
• Certifications in estimating, project controls, or commercial management are advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of cost estimation, tendering, project controls, or related experience.
• Experience with engineering, EPC, industrial, energy, or process industry projects.
• Strong understanding of procurement, cost management, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, tenders, maintenance contracts, and service deliveries.
• Analyze technical specs, scope documents, drawings, and client requirements.
• Develop cost breakdown structures and pricing models.
• Evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and historical cost records.
• Evaluate project profitability, risks, and commercial assumptions.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimization initiatives.
• Support pricing strategies and bid/no-bid decisions.
• Participate in financial reviews and estimate validation processes.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, material costs, and supplier pricing.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams.
