Job summary

AGR is recruiting a Contract Lead on a temporary basis for approximately one year in Rogaland, Norway. The role focuses on client procurement activities, establishing and managing supplier agreements, and leading negotiations to secure compliant, value-driven contracts.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor/Master in a relevant field and at least 5 years of contracting experience, with strong English and Norwegian communication skills and a proactive, integrity-driven approach.

  • Lead contract activity from establish to manage agreements.

  • Manage supplier relations and performance, including risk-based follow-ups.
  • Coordinate hand-over to management phase and Plan-to-Pay implementation.

AGR is working closely with a client to recruit a Contract Lead to join on a temporary basis for approximately one year.

About the role:

Client Procurement unit is looking for skilled and motivated Contract Leads to join the procurement category serving the Wells business area (Wells holds the global end-to-end accountability for designing and delivering well operations onshore and offshore).

Description about task and responsibilities:
  • A Contract Lead is responsible for client procurement activities related to establish and manage agreements.
  • Holds the mandate to legally commit the Company to suppliers according to approval requirements.
  • Establish agreement: Lead process and team compliant and efficiently
  • Ensure safety, security, and sustainability in procurement
  • Establish Specific Procurement Strategy according to business need and relevant Category Strategy
  • Understand relevant market and how to connect this to business need Produce and issue request for information (RFI)
  • Establish bidders list Prepare evaluation procedure
  • Establish, issue and manage enquiry
  • Handle bid clarifications and conduct bid clarification meetings
  • Plan and conduct negotiations
  • Perform evaluation and agreement award, including partner approval
  • Ensure proper hand-over to management phase, including strategic objectives
  • Manage agreement: Agreement start-up activities, including: Implement contract(s) in all systems (Plan-to-Pay)
  • Receive and archive guarantees
  • Contribute to the establishment and management of a risk-based follow-up plan, linked to strategic objectives
  • Contribute to ensure agreement understanding and compliance (training of internal and external users)
  • Contribute to contract start-up meetings with supplier(s)
  • Manage performance and relations, including: Safeguard correct use of the contract
  • Give input on and analyse cost performance data
  • Stakeholder management Initiate and implement improvements
  • Perform supplier relations management
  • Ensure SOX-control
  • Handle change, including: Variation order requests (VOR) and variation orders (VO) Amendments Options Request for rate adjustments
  • Handle supplier quality deviation
  • Handle contractual issues, including Force Majeure
  • Perform cancellation and termination of contract
  • Perform close out, including: Accept of delivery Completion and final account Closing of contract
Competence Requirements:
  • Bachelor/Master degree in supply chain management, finance, economics or law.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within contracting work.
  • Good communication skills (written and oral), in English and/or Norwegian.
