Job description

Combine technical procurement with fuel purchasing in a global maritime environment

The energy transition towards renewables is ongoing, and Fred. Olsen Windcarrier has been a key part of this journey for many years. We are trusted worldwide for delivering precise marine operations and supporting global partners with installation and maintenance services for offshore wind parks. While employed by Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, this role will also support our sister company, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, leveraging our shared maritime expertise.

We are now looking for a Technical & Fuel Purchaser to join our Procurement team in Oslo.

Your primary responsibility will be technical procurement, ensuring the efficient sourcing of spare parts, equipment and services for our fleet. You will also play a key role in fuel procurement for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, supporting purchasing decisions in a commercially significant spend category.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement and logistics activities for technical spare parts, equipment and services.
  • Conduct sourcing, supplier negotiations and contract follow-up.
  • Follow fuel markets and contribute to fuel purchasing activities for the cruise fleet.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing developments and procurement opportunities.
  • Drive supplier performance, cost optimization and value creation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and working practices.
  • Utilize AI-driven tools and digital solutions to strengthen procurement efficiency and decision making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vessels and internal stakeholders.
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, working closely with suppliers and stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, create value and drive positive change.

You thrive in a role where commercial thinking, supplier relationships and continuous improvement go hand in hand.

Required:

  • Higher education in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Maritime Studies, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Min 3 years of experience within technical procurement, marine operations, shipping, or related industries.
  • Strong Technical understanding of vessel equipment, spare parts, and marine services.
  • Commercial mindset and strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred:

  • Experience with fuel procurement, bunker markets or commodity purchasing is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are equally interested in candidates with strong technical procurement experience and the motivation to develop within this area.
  • Experience with supplier performance management and contract negotiations.
  • Strong interest in AI, digital tools and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience from shipping, cruise, offshore or maritime industries.
What We Offer
  • A unique opportunity to combine technical procurement with fuel procurement and market analysis.
  • Exposure to both offshore wind and cruise operations within the Fred. Olsen Group.
  • Significant responsibility and the opportunity to influence procurement decisions with direct business impact.
  • A collaborative and international working environment with high professional standards.

We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of gender, age, disability or cultural background.

As part of our recruitment process, Semac conducts background checks on final candidates. With the candidate’s consent, these checks include verification of CV details and other application documents.

All information in this process will be handled with confidentiality.
