Job summary

Flyper is seeking a Brick Mason to join our team in Svalbard. You will construct and repair structures using brick and stone, read blueprints, and mix mortar with masonry tools, all while maintaining safety on outdoor sites.

Responsibilities include laying out patterns, cutting materials to fit spaces, and ensuring accurate levels using traditional masonry techniques in challenging weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Brick Mason.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
• Experience with mixing mortar and using masonry tools.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lay out patterns for walls and other structures using measuring tools.
• Cut or break bricks, stones, or other materials to fit specific spaces.
• Mix mortar or grout according to specified proportions.
• Spread mortar between bricks or stones using trowels or other tools.
• Use levels, plumb bobs, and string lines to ensure structures are level and straight.
• Repair or replace damaged bricks or stones.
• Follow safety procedures at all times while working on job sites.
• Read blueprints or construction plans to determine project requirements.
• Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
