Job summary

Nordscale Operations in Narvik seeks a Technical Specialist L3 to design, deploy, commission, optimise, and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation across mission-critical data center facilities. The role focuses on reliability, efficiency, and resilience of mechanical and electrical systems through advanced monitoring and control strategies.

The role requires deep knowledge of HVAC controls, power distribution, data center protocols, and industrial communications.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation platforms.
• Experience supporting critical environments, especially data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and building services.
• Proven experience commissioning and troubleshooting BMS systems.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus TCP/RTU, SNMP.
• Experience integrating BMS with CRAC/CRAH, chillers, UPS, generators, EPMS.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, commission, and maintain BMS and automation solutions for data center environments.
• Monitor and optimise critical infrastructure performance (cooling, HVAC, power, monitoring).
• Develop and implement control strategies to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Integrate BMS with third-party systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers, UPS, generators, EPMS).
• Troubleshoot BMS, controls, and network issues to minimise downtime.
• Support FAT, SAT, IST and handover activities; document findings and updates.
• Create and maintain alarms, trends, dashboards, reports, and GUIs.
• Analyse data for opportunities to optimise systems and energy use.
• Produce control narratives, point schedules, network diagrams, and as-built records.
