Job summary

Family Dollar in South Carolina is seeking a part-time Store Manager to support daily store operations, assist customers, and manage merchandise flow. You will help with opening/closing, supervise associates, and ensure adherence to company policies while maintaining a positive store environment.

The role requires effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a high-energy team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform required physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, and cash handling
• Keep store areas clean, well-stocked, and organized to standards
• Protect company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of restrooms, floors, and trash disposal
• Other duties as assigned
