Do you have a technical background in the maritime industry and a passion for sharing your expertise? Looking no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Technical Trainer OFS Products to join our team.

In this role you are responsible for developing and delivering technical training with a primary focus on internal service engineers in all MacGregor locations, particularly within hydraulic and electric systems related to MacGregor Offshore products. The role ensures high-quality training design and execution using modern learning methods and solid technical understanding.

The position includes managing and delivering internal technical training programs, creating and maintaining blended learning content, and conducting both face-to-face and remote training sessions. It involves identifying training needs in cooperation with service, newbuild, support, and product teams, ensuring that training content aligns with product updates and service practices.

More tasks and responsibilities
  • Produce and update training material for both online and face to face trainings
  • Coordinate training logistics, planning, and scheduling
  • Ensure alignment of training content with product updates and service practices
  • Gather feedback, evaluate effectiveness, and improve training continuously
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and up-to-date training materials
  • Support occasional customer training needs in coordination with relevant departments

You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Training OFS Products. The position is based in MacGregor’s office in Bergen, (or other MacGregor locations in Norway as Bodø, Arendal, Kristiansand or Averøy) and involves occasional travel.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a person who is a clear communicator with proven facilitation and presentation skills. You should be genuinely motivated by sharing knowledge and guiding others. It is essential that you possess technical knowledge of maritime hydraulics and electrics in addition to being skilled in instructional design and learning principles. To succeed in this role you need to be well-organized, proactive and collaborative.

Ideally you have

Preferably knowledge in delivery of training, developing and delivering training programs

Technical degree in engineering, mechanics, automation, or maritime systems

Experience in maritime or shipbuilding industry, ideally in engineering or field service

Hands-on experience with hydraulic and electric systems

Advantage to have knowledge of Salesforce, Google environments, Siemens software and graphic design

Fluent in both written and spoken English
