WaveSolutions is seeking an IT Manager to oversee all IT systems and infrastructure in Svalbard. You will lead a team of IT professionals, implement technology strategies, and ensure system security and reliability.

Responsibilities include budgeting, vendor and stakeholder coordination, and maintaining comprehensive IT documentation. The role demands strong communication and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced Arctic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 3 years experience in an IT managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of network administration, security protocols, and hardware/software systems.
• Experience with budget management and cost control measures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of IT professionals including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Develop and implement technology strategies to support the company goals.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems.
• Ensure the security of network and data through regular backups and system updates.
• Monitor system performance and address issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and provide solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures and policies.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies and make recommendations for their implementation.
