Job summary

DNV is seeking an Aquaculture Researcher to join the Ocean and Food Systems programme at Høvik/Oslo, Norway. You will develop risk models for aquaculture systems and translate scientific insights into practical frameworks to manage fish health and welfare risks.

You will work at the interface of science, data, industry, and innovation, contributing to research proposals, publications, and knowledge transfer. The role offers a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment within GRD.

Qualifications

MSc or PhD in a quantitative biology discipline.
Experience developing quantitative models for biological systems, preferably in aquaculture or fish health.
Experience selecting and applying modelling methodologies.
Good coding skills and ability to think computationally.
Experience managing research projects and securing funding is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Develop risk models to understand interactions between aquaculture technologies, operations, regulations, economy, fish health and ecosystems.
Contribute to development of methods, frameworks, guidelines and best practices for managing fish health and welfare risks.
Apply numerical modelling or statistical methods to aquaculture data and quantify uncertainty.
Engage with internal experts, industry stakeholders, authorities, technology providers and partners.
Develop research proposals, externally funded projects, white papers, reports and publications.
