Job summary

Farmforce in Oslo seeks a Development Chapter Lead, the senior engineering leader responsible for standards, architecture, maturity, and people across the Technology organization. This hands-on leadership role combines coding with strategy, reporting to the CTO and shaping how we build software.

You will define coding standards, lead architectural reviews, manage engineers, and contribute as a senior engineer in product squads. Fluent English required; Norwegian preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong software architecture background with scale experience.
• Proven track record defining engineering standards across a developer organization.
• Current hands-on engineering skills and leadership of engineers.
• AI-first mindset and ability to plan, delegate to AI agents, and verify work.
• Fluent English; Norwegian preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the software development capability: standards, practices, tooling, maturity.
• Define and drive adoption of coding standards and code review across teams.
• Lead architectural reviews for significant changes and align with direction.
• Own the debt strategy and reduce it, including AI-generated debt.
• Champion AI-assisted development across the team as a standing expectation.
• Hold personnel responsibility for Developers: performance, wellbeing, career development.
• Contribute hands-on to design, implementation, and code review.
• Partner with QA on test strategy for AI-generated code.
