Job summary

National Health Care Associates' Norway Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to plan and run a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.

This 32-hour-per-week role offers a $750 sign-on bonus, comprehensive training, and a supportive team in a Great Place to Work environment where kindness, service, compassion and excellence guide daily care.

Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care preferred but training provided.
  • Must read, write and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrates caring demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing activities for residents.
  • Engage residents in arts, crafts, games, music, and other programs.
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop a monthly calendar.
  • Provide one-on-one support for residents needing extra help.
  • Foster community and social interaction among residents.
  • Document attendance and participation records.

What You'll Do
  • 32 hours per week **

$750 sign on bonus

As an Activities Assistant, you have a crucial role in planning and implementing a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities. Your creative ideas and enthusiasm will contribute to fostering a positive and lively atmosphere for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing a diverse range of activities for residents
  • Engage residents in arts and crafts, games, music, and other recreational programs
  • Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activities calendar
  • Provide one-on-one support for residents who may need additional assistance
  • Foster a sense of community and social interaction among residents
  • Document and maintain records of residents' participation in activities

Rate of Pay

Up to USD $16.00/Hr.

What You'll Bring
Qualifications of an Activities Assistant include:
  • Previous experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living setting is preferred but not required - training will be provided
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Interest in the therapeutic needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
