Job summary

Boatcaptain in IJmuiden seeks an experienced All-Round Maritime Engineering Technician to service luxury yachts. The role is a 40-hour workweek, with part-time options available. You will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other mechanical components, plus lighter tasks like sanding and painting.

Qualifications

• MBO level 2–4 with a diploma in mechanic/installer or maritime studies, or demonstrable work experience.
• Solid mechanical and technical insight across engines, electricals, hydraulics.
• Experience with shipbuilding or marine systems is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and obtain further certifications (B&G, Raymarine).

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on engines of various brands.
• Maintain steering and navigation systems.
• Keep hulls, prop shafts, rudders, and anti-fouling in good condition.
• Diagnose faults in engines, electricals, hydraulics, and other installations.
• Collaborate with team to complete projects safely and efficiently.
