Job summary

Action SALT Manager role based in Zwaagdijk-Oost, NL drives US state and local tax obligations across jurisdictions. You ensure compliance, controls and risk management while supporting expansion. Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Commercial teams to optimize tax processes.

The role requires a Master’s in Tax/Accounting and 5–10 years SALT experience, preferably from Big Four or large advisory, across multi-state environments.

Qualifications

• For SALT: Master's in Tax, Accounting, or related field is required.
• Around 5-10 years of US State & Local Tax experience.
• Experience with Big Four, tax advisory, law firm, or in-house tax function.
• Strong experience with sales & use tax in multi-state environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SALT obligations across US jurisdictions with accurate tax determination, collection, reporting, remittance, and exemption management.
• Monitor nexus (economic and physical) and assess impact of store openings, ecommerce, and logistics footprint.
• Identify SALT exposures and lead remediation like registrations and disclosures.
• Advise on SALT implications of commercial decisions, supply chain changes, pricing, and expansion.
• Manage SALT audits and act as primary contact for tax authorities; develop audit positions.
• Ensure tax systems are configured correctly and collaborate with IT/Finance to improve data quality and automation.
• Identify SALT risks, embed controls within Tax Control Framework, maintain audit trails.
• Provide reporting on SALT risks and regulatory developments to Head of Tax and external advisors.
