Job summary

Booking Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer I for the Treasury Data Science & Analytics team to design, develop and maintain analytical data models and reusable data assets.

You will migrate and modernize analytical frameworks, take ownership of migration deliverables, and collaborate with finance stakeholders to ensure reliable pipelines and data quality. Local candidates in the Amsterdam area are prioritized in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics Engineering, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering or Data Warehousing.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong SQL skills with data transformation and discrepancy investigation.
• Python programming to write clear, maintainable code.
• Analytical data modelling including data granularity, relationships and historical data.
• Experience building data pipelines using dbt or comparable framework.
• Experience with relational databases or cloud data warehouses; Snowflake is beneficial.
• Experience supporting scheduled workflows with logs, monitoring and alerts.
• Experience automated data quality checks and validating outputs.
• Experience using Git, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with cloud services for data processing/storage; Docker/Kubernetes containers.
• Experience data exploration, visualization and stakeholder communication.
• Understanding of data governance, security fundamentals, documentation and lineage.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of workflow migration and modernisation.
• Build and optimize analytical data assets and pipelines using dbt and PySpark; improve execution time and resource efficiency.
• Establish consistent workflow management across the team, including scheduling, dependencies, retries, backfills, health monitoring and alerting.
• Implement automated data quality controls (recency, completeness, uniqueness, reconciliation, schema changes).
• Develop and maintain data processing and integration components for analytical apps and automation.
• Build Snowflake semantic views and support self-service analytics with defined metrics.
• Establish data governance, definitions, lineage and documentation.
