Job summary

Stage-Mate, a young and growing live entertainment company, seeks an all-around technician to tour the Netherlands and beyond. You will independently run shows, set up lighting, sound, and video, and coordinate with theater technicians to ensure a smooth performance.

Travel by bus with touring productions, handle the technical aspects on site, troubleshoot issues, and maintain safety. A B driving license is important and flexibility to work in diverse venues is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Travel independently with touring productions as the production's technical manager.
• Coordinate technical details, scheduling, and loading/unloading times with theatres and venues in advance.
• Supervise the setup of sets, lighting, sound, and video with the theatre's technicians.
• Adjust and set up the lighting plan for each venue.
• Operate lighting, sound, and video during performances.
• Independently troubleshoot malfunctions and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Ensure safety on and off stage.

Stage-Mate is a young and growing company in the live entertainment sector. We specialize in technical production, lighting design, lighting operation, and managing the entire touring process for productions. From initial design to the final performance, we ensure that a show is technically sound and travels smoothly throughout the Netherlands and abroad.
Our daily work is very varied, but it all revolves around designing and implementing technical solutions for the arts sector. Our team currently consists of nine passionate colleagues, and we’re looking for new team members to join us.
In theater and dance, we work for clients including Het Nationale Theater, ISH Dance Collective, Illusionary Rockaz Company, Body of Art, Theater Oostpool, Theater Utrecht, De Warme Winkel , and Theaterproducties Twente. In the events industry, our clients include Holland Festival, Dekmantel, Awakenings, Paradiso, Carré, and Asko|Schönberg. We also organize tours for artists such as Merol and Hang Youth.

Who are we looking for?

For our theater and dance productions, we’re looking for an all-around technician who can independently run a show on tour throughout the Netherlands and internationally. While on tour, you’ll be the person responsible for the production’s technical aspects. You’ll travel by bus to the theater, set up the show together with the theater’s technicians, and operate the lighting, sound, and video during the performance.

You’re a jack-of-all-trades. You hang and adjust lighting, set up sound equipment, build sets, and troubleshoot technical issues on your own. You keep a clear head when things don’t go as planned, and you ensure that the show goes off without a hitch every night.

Possession of driver's license B is important.

We don’t have any specific requirements regarding education or educational background; what’s more important to us is that you
can work independently, have strong technical and creative insight, and can adapt quickly when things don’t go as expected. This role requires solid technical
knowledge of lighting is required.
