Job summary

DP World is seeking a Transport Planner to join Multimodal Solutions in Rotterdam. You will settle transport orders, optimize loads, and coordinate with drivers, hauliers and the Customer Service team to ensure efficient operations and cost control.

The role requires topographical knowledge and MS Office proficiency, with at least two years in logistics. You will manage fleet decisions, charter outsourcing, and data checks, while reducing empty kilometres and ensuring compliance with regulatory

Qualifications

• Topographical knowledge is required.
• MS Office proficiency is required.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience.
• MBO or HBO-level logistics education preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and maintain accuracy.
• Customer-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Take care of correct settlement of all transport orders.
• Combine loads to optimize load factor considering client wishes.
• Calculate dimensions, capacity, floor space, and weight ratios.
• Communicate with drivers/hauliers for optimal service and rate.
• Inform Customer Service of changes, delays or extra costs.
• Confirm transport details to drivers/hauliers.
• Decide which loads to use own fleet vs chartered.
• Coordinate charter movements for outsourced loads.
• Reduce empty kilometres by load consolidation and repositioning.
• Check data after loading and report anomalies.
• Follow food transport standards if temperature-controlled.
• Follow P&O Ferrymasters policies and escalate issues.
• Escalate any matter detrimental to the company.
