Job summary

DJH in Walsall is offering a Trainee Accountant apprenticeship, starting August 2027 with a fully funded training package and a personal development plan toward becoming a qualified Accountant. The program emphasises learning, development and a proactive, client-focused mindset.

You will join a talented team to gain practical experience, prepare year-end statements, calculate tax liabilities and build strong client relationships while benefiting from flexible hybrid working and company-supported

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at minimum level 5 and above, with level 6 or above in Maths and English
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculate corporation and personal tax liabilities and suggest tax planning ideas
• Shadow and learn as you progress with your personal development plan
• Build long-lasting relationships with clients and deliver high-quality service

After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you’ll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully-fledged Accountant. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative, rewarding and you’ll learn loads every day.

Your typical day as a Trainee Accountant will involve:

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas
• Cracking on with your personal development plan – shadowing, questioning and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies
• Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily
