Job description

A Singapore-based proprietary trading firm and market maker is hiring a Trading Systems Engineer to build and scale the low-latency systems behind its trading across digital assets, tokenised real-world assets and traditional markets.

You will work closely with quantitative traders and researchers to turn trading ideas into reliable production systems. Your work will sit directly on the critical path of the business, influencing execution speed, system stability and trading performance.

The firm operates with a lean, highly technical team and is building an AI-native engineering environment. Engineers are encouraged to challenge established approaches, take ownership of complex problems and help shape how trading systems are designed and maintained.

The role

You will design, develop and operate high-performance systems covering:

  • Trade execution and order management
  • Exchange and broker connectivity
  • Pricing, risk and smart order-routing systems
  • Performance-critical trading infrastructure
  • Monitoring, debugging and operational tooling

You will also help define how AI agents are used in the engineering process, including:

  • Deciding which development tasks agents can own
  • Establishing where human review is required
  • Building evaluation, telemetry and feedback loops
  • Improving test coverage, delivery speed and engineering quality
  • Developing safeguards for code running on live trading systems
What we are looking for
  • Strong experience building and maintaining low-latency systems for algorithmic or high-frequency trading
  • Hands-on experience with trading architecture, including execution, market data, order management, connectivity, pricing or risk
  • Experience with performance tuning, profiling, monitoring and debugging
  • Professional experience with C++, Rust, Java or similar systems programming languages
  • Experience working directly with traders, quantitative researchers or trading desks
  • A strong understanding of how trading strategies operate in production and generate or lose money
  • Genuine experience using AI agents beyond autocomplete, such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or Cursor
  • Sound judgement around reliability, risk and the limits of AI-generated code
  • A willingness to own problems end to end and work across traditional team boundaries

Previous experience in digital-asset markets is not required.
