Job summary

CGI Nederland in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Test Manager to lead testing across Core Transactions platforms, shaping strategy and coordinating with teams, vendors and stakeholders. You will steer end-to-end testing, ensure risk-based coverage and guide test automation initiatives in a complex multi-system landscape.

You will coach Test Leads and analysts, report on quality metrics, and drive improvements while maintaining strong collaboration with delivery teams and business

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in software testing and QA, including leadership roles.
Proven E2E testing experience with complex, integrated systems and processes.
Experience defining test strategies and plans with risk-based testing focus.
Experience with API, database, messaging, batch, service-level testing and test automation.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.

Position Description

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager to lead testing activities for Core Transactions platforms and services, who is passionate about quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will work across teams, stakeholders, vendors, and systems throughout complex end-to-end processes. You will help shape the testing approach, strengthen quality assurance practices, and contribute to reliable and sustainable solutions that support business and clients. This is a role with visible impact, where your expertise helps teams grow, improve, and succeed.

Your role in our team

As a Test Manager, you lead and coordinate testing across complex applications, services and integrated landscapes. You combine hands-on testing expertise with a strategic view, ensuring risks are identified early and critical business processes are tested end to end.

Test strategy & planning

Define the overall test strategy, approach and model for initiatives and releases.
Develop test plans covering E2E, integration, system, regression, functional and non-functional testing.
Identify scope, dependencies, risks, environments, test data and responsibilities.
Apply risk-based testing and establish clear entry, exit and quality criteria.
Coordinate FAT, BAT, system, integration and regression testing where applicable.

End-to-end testing & integration

Lead E2E testing across complex business and transaction flows from initiation through completion.
Ensure coverage across applications, services, APIs, databases, messaging, external interfaces and downstream systems.
Validate positive, negative, exception, failure, retry, reversal, recovery and reconciliation scenarios where relevant.
Drive integration testing and identify coverage gaps, dependencies and bottlenecks early.
Validate data transformations, business rules, status changes, acknowledgements and error handling.

Test management, automation & quality

Lead and coordinate test teams across workstreams, delivery teams and suppliers.
Monitor execution, progress, quality metrics, risks and issues and report clearly to stakeholders.
Own defect triage and prioritisation, assessing business, technical and E2E impact.
Oversee manual and automated testing and help shape the test automation strategy.
Improve automated regression tests, test scenarios and quality practices using metrics and retrospectives.

Release & quality governance

Provide test readiness and completion assessments and define quality KPIs and exit criteria.
Provide input to release and go-live decisions based on test results and residual risks.
Ensure appropriate evidence and documentation are available for governance and approvals.

Communicate quality and risk clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your profile

8+ years of experience in software testing and QA, including significant experience as a Test Manager or Test Lead.
Proven E2E testing experience with complex, integrated systems and business processes.
Experience defining test strategies, plans and models, with strong knowledge of risk-based testing.
Experience with API, database, messaging, batch, service-level testing and test automation.
Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams and domains.
Proactive, pragmatic, curious and focused on continuous improvement.

Nice to have:

ISTQB or a comparable testing certification.
Experience in payments, financial services, insurance, transaction processing or another complex domain.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, cloud or distributed architectures, and performance or resilience testing.

Technical & testing skills

Strong understanding of E2E testing, test strategy and modelling, system and integration testing, functional and regression testing, API testing, automation, data validation, messaging, risk-based testing, test data and environment management, non-functional testing, defect management and release quality governance. Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM/Quality Center, Postman, SQL and test automation frameworks is desirable.
