CGI Nederland is seeking a Quality Engineering Architect to shape and improve quality processes in the financial sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality engineering, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices, facilitating the integration of quality checks throughout development.
Your responsibilities include designing quality architecture, implementing test strategies, and coaching teams to enhance quality ownership. This role is pivotal in ensuring secure and reliable software delivery within a dynamic environment.
Are you ready to shape the future of Quality Engineering in the financial sector? At CGI, you help banks, insurers, pension providers and other financial institutions build and improve business‑critical digital solutions. These solutions must be secure, reliable, scalable, resilient and compliant, because they support processes that impact millions of users every day.
As a Quality Engineering Architect (Financial Services), you design, establish and continuously improve Quality Engineering approaches across Agile and DevOps teams. You help teams move beyond testing at the end of the delivery cycle and ensure that quality is embedded from refinement and design through development, testing, deployment and operations.
You define quality strategies, test architectures, automation principles, quality standards and reusable implementation patterns that fit complex and regulated financial environments. You make risks visible, translate compliance and audit requirements into practical quality measures and help teams decide what to test, when to test, how deeply to test and how to automate effectively.
In this role, you work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, business analysts, solution architects, security specialists, DevOps engineers and client stakeholders. You connect strategy, architecture and hands‑on engineering, and you help teams take ownership of quality without taking over their work.
You will also play an important role in modernising the quality landscape, including scalable automation frameworks, API testing, service virtualization, test data management, CI/CD quality gates, observability, quality reporting, non‑functional testing and AI‑assisted testing. You are not expected to be the expert in every specialist domain yourself, but you know how to define direction, involve the right expertise and create a coherent quality approach.
Your work helps create faster, safer and more predictable software delivery in environments where reliability, security, resilience and compliance are essential.
You are a senior Quality Engineering professional who can provide direction, create structure and help teams improve step by step. You are proactive, analytical and pragmatic, and you know how to balance ambition with what is realistic in complex delivery environments.
You are comfortable discussing quality strategy with senior stakeholders, architecture with technical specialists and concrete engineering practices with development teams. You understand that Quality Engineering is not a separate phase or a separate team, but a mindset and capability that should be part of the full software delivery lifecycle.
You communicate clearly, challenge constructively and know how to create buy‑in. You can coach teams toward better quality ownership without becoming the person who solves everything for them. You bring seniority, energy and practical experience to environments where quality, security, compliance and delivery speed all matter.
You are able to operate at different levels: from defining a quality vision and architectural guardrails to reviewing test automation approaches, CI/CD integration, test evidence and reporting. You know how to make quality practical, measurable and scalable.
You will work within the financial services domain, where CGI supports clients with reliable, secure and scalable IT solutions. This may include banking, payments, pensions, insurance, regulatory reporting, risk, compliance or core financial systems. These are environments where quality is not optional, but a condition for trust, continuity and customer impact.
You will work with Agile and DevOps teams that combine domain knowledge with modern engineering practices. Depending on the client context, you may work on cloud‑native platforms, legacy modernization, integration landscapes, data‑intensive solutions, low‑code platforms or business‑critical core systems.
You will have the opportunity to influence how Quality Engineering is organized, implemented and improved in complex delivery environments. Your work directly contributes to faster delivery, increased resilience, improved regulatory compliance and higher customer trust.
At CGI, you will work with experienced colleagues who understand both technology and the financial sector. You will have room to develop your own expertise, contribute to communities of practice and help shape the future of Quality Engineering for our clients.
