Job summary

The Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Condensed Matter Theory within APSE. You will establish an independent research program, lead a small group, and collaborate closely with experimental groups across TU/e.

We seek a strong theoretical physicist with focus on condensed matter theory, semiconductors and quantum materials who can contribute to teaching in quantum mechanics, solid-state physics and electromagnetism.

Qualifications

• Strong background in theoretical physics with focus on condensed matter theory.
• Desire to contribute to experimental and technological developments in materials research.
• Ability to establish an independent research program and develop collaborations across TU/e and APSE.

Responsibilities

• Establish an independent research programme and develop complementary expertise within APSE.
• Build and lead your own research team, supervise postdoctoral and doctoral researchers and students.
• Collaborate closely with internationally leading experimental groups to guide experiments and interpret observations.
• Contribute to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Applied Physics, teaching courses in quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, electromagnetism, and condensed matter theory.
