Job summary

AWL in the Netherlands is seeking a Documentalist to translate machine specifications into clear, end-user manuals and related maintenance and safety instructions. You will be the main point of contact for documentation across projects and ensure accurate, complete content.

You will gather information from internal teams and international locations, work with multiple disciplines, and produce Dutch and English documentation (German a plus).

Within our Intralogistics Business Unit, we are focused on taking warehouse and distribution center automation to the next level. We do this by implementing automated robotics and vision technology, making logistics processes faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We are looking for a Documentalist who ensures that every project is supported by accurate and complete technical documentation. Are you the person who can translate machine specifications into clear and understandable information for end users? Then we're looking for you!

In this role, you will be the key point of contact for all documentation-related aspects of a project. You will ensure our customers receive accurate information about every aspect of our machines through illustrations and written content in the machine manuals. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical documentation.

No two machines are the same, and neither are the manuals. This makes the role both diverse and challenging, as you will work closely with nearly every discipline involved in a project to gather the required information.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating the overall machine description;
• Collecting and coordinating the required information from within the organization and our international locations;
• Developing maintenance instructions and procedures;
• Creating operator instructions for machine use;
• Developing machine safety instructions and guidelines.

What do we expect from you?

• A technical background through education and/or experience, preferably within a similar industry;
• Passion for writing and the ability to simplify complex information into clear, easy-to-understand content;
• Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and a proactive mindset;
• Willingness to learn from others and contribute ideas to improve our processes;
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills;
• Experience writing technical documentation in both Dutch and English. German is a plus;
• Availability of at least 24 to 32 hours per week.
