General description

For a technology-driven organization operating complex and business-critical IT environments, we are looking for an experienced Technical Security Lead. In this position, you bridge the gap between cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, and technical execution.

You work closely with engineering teams, security specialists, technical leadership, management, and customer stakeholders. Your objective is to ensure that security is effectively integrated into daily engineering and operational activities while continuously improving the overall security posture of the environments for which the teams are responsible.

Rather than focusing on a single security discipline, you take a broad view of cybersecurity. You help determine priorities, identify and challenge risks, coordinate security initiatives, support assurance and compliance activities, and guide teams in making well-informed security decisions.

The position requires sufficient technical depth to engage with engineers on architecture, infrastructure, cloud, applications, and security controls, combined with the ability to translate technical risks into clear business implications and strategic priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead security initiatives across technical teams and relevant stakeholders.
• Drive improvements in security maturity and establish a continuous improvement approach.
• Ensure technical environments remain aligned with established security requirements, policies, baselines, and controls.
• Coordinate and support audits, assessments, compliance activities, and regulatory requirements.
• Advise stakeholders on security architecture, governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Translate security requirements and identified risks into practical technical measures.
• Ensure security requirements are considered throughout architecture, design, implementation, and operational processes.
• Facilitate discussions around technical risks, vulnerabilities, findings, and appropriate remediation.
• Coordinate or support security incident response and act as an escalation point for complex security matters.
• Strengthen security awareness and encourage shared ownership of security across engineering teams.
• Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats, technologies, regulatory developments, and security practices.

Requirements for this role

• Several years of relevant professional experience within cybersecurity, information security, cloud security, infrastructure, platform engineering, or a comparable technical field.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to effectively collaborate with software, cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineers.
• Demonstrable experience translating security risks and requirements into realistic technical solutions and controls.
• Knowledge of security architecture, threat modeling, cybersecurity risk management, and security engineering principles.
• Experience with governance, risk and compliance (GRC), security assessments, audits, or regulatory requirements.
• Ability to assess security challenges across complex technology environments rather than from a single security discipline.
• Experience coordinating security initiatives involving multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Wishes

• Previous experience as a Technical Security Lead, Security Lead, Security Architect, Security Officer, Security Consultant, Security Engineer, or comparable position.
• Experience acting as a security advisor or trusted security partner for internal or external stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud-native and modern infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of technologies such as Kubernetes and major public cloud platforms.
• Experience working with autonomous or multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Practical knowledge of incident response, vulnerability management, security operations, or security monitoring.
• Experience working in regulated sectors or complex enterprise environments.
• Experience balancing security requirements with operational resilience and business objectives.
