Job summary

Jumbo is seeking an experienced Tech Lead / Staff Engineer to act as the technical sparring partner for multiple development teams within key domains. You will guide architecture, engineering practices, and software development decisions to align business, product, and tech goals.

You will help evolve architectures, lead ADRs, and facilitate workshops such as Event Storming and DDD to drive clarity and direction. A strong coaching mindset and e-commerce experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or Software Architect.
• Experience providing technical direction across multiple teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to align diverse interests.
• Coaching leader who helps teams grow and succeed independently.
• Experience in system design and guiding technical decision-making in complex environments.
• Skilled in collaborative modeling and facilitating workshops with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex topics clearly.
• Experience in an e-commerce environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical sparring partner for multiple development teams within a domain.
• Help teams make the right decisions around architecture, engineering practices, and software development.
• Support domains in observability, incident management, SLIs/SLOs, and AI-assisted software development.
• Facilitate workshops such as Event Storming, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Team Topologies, and socio-technical systems.
• Coach engineers and foster innovation to improve engineering practices and collaboration.
• Create alignment between business, product, and engineering to connect goals.
