Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Amsterdam leads a global networking program. We are seeking a team lead to design, deploy, and optimize our networking infrastructure across offices and clouds.

You will mentor engineers, align technical goals with product strategy, and drive operation excellence, automation, and security. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong networking expertise, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Qualifications

This team is located in our Platform Engineering Solution in Amsterdam. The purpose of Platform Engineering is to enable the company engineers to autonomously build and support secure, scalable and reliable applications with high speed and quality through a common technology ecosystem.

As the team lead for our Networking team in Amsterdam, you will build, mentor, and coach a diverse, talented team at delivering foundational infrastructure services for our core platform.

You are comfortable streamlining the team's engineering operations, refining product requirements together with product and engineers and encouraging effective collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

• Work closely with project managers, vendors, and other teams to ensure the successful deployment of networking infrastructure in the company.
• Design, implement, and optimize the company networking infrastructure.
• Set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager.
• Take responsibility for the operation and improvement of the networking team at the company.
• Deploy, scale, and automate a network spanning the globe.
• Drive the technical direction of the team.
• Maintain sources of truth, performance and health metrics, and the full appliance lifecycle.

Who You Are:

• Proven experience managing and optimizing global network infrastructure environments.
• Experience in managing IT teams and products.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, EVPN, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, and firewalling.
• Strong knowledge of Linux networking stack.
• Proven experience in coaching, leading, and mentoring engineering talent.
• You have the ability to lead technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
• You are a team player who enjoys working with a global team across different offices, roles, and cultures.
• Hands‑on experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible and Puppet.
