Overview

Join our dynamic Finance team, where your expertise will play a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions and driving compliance for our diverse pharmaceutical operations in the Netherlands. We are looking for a Tax Compliance Senior Specialist.

Our Finance team brings our financial perspectives into our overall strategic and tactical decision making. Our company has many legal entities in The Netherlands engaged in sales, production, research & development of both human health and animal health pharmaceuticals. In addition, legal entities in The Netherlands also have a significant role in the company’s global holding and treasury activities. We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting and performance evaluation. This allows the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improve lives.

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Compliance Senior Specialist to join our Finance team within a leading pharmaceutical organization. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely filing of corporate tax returns for our Dutch legal entities involved in pharmaceutical research, development, manufacturing, and global distribution, as well as holding and financing activities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including corporate tax, finance & accounting, supply chain, and treasury, to ensure tax compliance in a highly regulated and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file corporate income tax returns and related documentation for pharmaceutical, financing and holding entities, including explanatory notes.
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch and international tax regulations, including BEPS and transfer pricing requirements.
  • Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes in accordance with Dutch GAAP / US GAAP.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (for example R&D finance, manufacturing, treasury) to gather accurate data for tax filings.
  • Assist with tax audits and provide documentation and technical support to auditors and tax authorities.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation relevant to the pharmaceutical industry as well as for financing and holding entities and assess their impact.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of tax control frameworks and internal controls.
  • Support tax aspects of business restructurings, licensing agreements, and intercompany transactions.
Your profile
  • Bachelor or Master in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in tax compliance gained in a tax compliance department of a Big 4, accounting or tax organization or in-house.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate tax regulations and filing requirements in the Netherlands.
  • Basic understanding of transfer pricing and experience with tax reporting in a multinational environment is a plus.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and automated databases; familiarity with SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with a proven capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships across various functions.
  • Excellent proficiency in English; Dutch language skills are highly preferred.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
