Job summary

OpenUp is growing and seeks a freelance Lifestyle Expert to support mental and physical well-being across Europe. You will deliver short lifestyle coaching sessions, guide clients toward actionable goals, and help individuals improve daily health habits.

This flexible freelance role entails 4–10 hours per week, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide accessible, preventive care. Training and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• BA or MSc in lifestyle medicine, dietetics, or nutrition.
• 4+ years of experience with individuals or groups after BA.
• Laptop with Windows 11 or MacOS Sonoma 14 and active antivirus.
• Knowledge of interventions based on evidence-based lifestyle medicine and the positive health framework.
• Experience in lifestyle coaching.
• Team player with resilience and growth mindset.
• Able to multitask, present to customers, and write lifestyle articles.
• Independent and proactive with strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned and on-demand video consults (approx. 25 minutes).
• Help clients set clear, actionable goals and guide first steps.
• Engage with diverse clients and teams; participate in development sessions.
• Deliver concise, solution-focused coaching to promote autonomy.

About the assignment

To fuel our growth, we are looking for entrepreneurial, purpose-driven experts who share our vision of making mental well-being direct, approachable, and impactful. At OpenUp , we focus on prevention. We don’t diagnose; we provide guidance for life’s everyday challenges in the field of lifestyle. We offer planned and on-demand video consults seven days a week, ensuring people can access support when they need it most - no long waits, no barriers. In each session (usually 25 minutes), you’ll help clients set clear, actionable goals and guide them toward meaningful first steps. Our mission is to help people build skills and autonomy, so they feel confident to continue their journey independently. Many clients find they gain what they need in just a few focused conversations - thanks to your structured, goal-oriented support. You’ll engage with a wide variety of people, from diverse cultural backgrounds and industries, and you’ll have opportunities to grow through weekly intervision sessions and ongoing development. We work together to make mental well-being accessible, practical, and empowering for everyone.

About you

You are a Lifestyle Expert who wants to join us in improving Mental and Physical well-being in the Netherlands and all across Europe. You thrive in a dynamic and growing work environment.

Next to that:

• You have a BA or MSc degree in a relevant field of applied sciences such as lifestyle medicine, dietetics or nutrition.
• You have 4+ years of working experience with individuals or groups after BA.
• You have a laptop/computer with Windows 11 or Macos Sonoma 14 AND an antivirus turned on in your device.
• You have knowledge of interventions based on evidence-based lifestyle medicine and the positive health framework.
• You have experience in lifestyle coaching.
• You are a team player, resilient, and have a growth mindset.
• You're flexible, a real multi-tasker, and get energy from a variety of tasks. For example, you like to give a public presentation for new customers and write articles about lifestyle and well-being.
• You are concise, solution-oriented, and coaching-focused.
• The relationship with clients and colleagues forms the center of your work.
• You start conversations, seek for connection and act decisively.
• You work solution-focused and you are able to come up with advice for your clients in a short period of time.
• You act from a 'practice what you preach' perspective. This appears from your expressions and your own reflections, the application of your interventions and your attitude to your clients and colleagues.
• You are a team-player, but you are also able to work independently.
• When you find yourself with a good idea or wish to develop yourself: you reach out!

What you can expect
