Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Technical Lead in the Netherlands to join the Transmission & Distribution engineering team. Lead design, engineering and delivery of grid modernization, HV substations, renewables and battery storage projects (>110kV) from concept through commissioning.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across internal and external stakeholders and drive high standards in safety and quality. You will mentor engineers, oversee planning and resourcing, and support bids and business development

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems engineering (or equivalent).
Transmission & Distribution/ renewables/ large infrastructure design experience including multi-disciplinary scope.
Extensive experience in the design and delivery of high voltage (>110kV) substation and powerline projects in the Netherlands.
Experience working with Dutch TSO/DSO requirements and the Dutch electricity market.
Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex power infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, engineering, and delivery of Grid modernization, high voltage substations, renewables, Battery Storage and powerline projects (>110kV) from concept through commissioning support.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and external stakeholders, including AECOM global teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the site installation and commissioning works.
Oversee the network modelling and related power system studies; provide technical guidance and mentorship to project team members.
Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet project milestones and deliverables; ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met.
Represent AECOM with professionalism and integrity, adhering to ethical standards and the Code of Conduct.
Promote the adoption of digital engineering, automation, data-driven approaches and AI-enabled tools.
Identify opportunities to standardise and automate engineering processes to improve quality, efficiency and consistency.
