As a System Engineer (Mechatronics) at FORTNA, you will be responsible for the development of logistics sorting systems and their implementation at client sites. You will lead projects alongside the Project Manager and act as the technical lead, taking primary responsibility for the technical solution. While involved throughout all project phases, you will coordinate the technical execution of the functional design across multiple engineering disciplines. Each discipline has a Lead Engineer whom you will guide while they oversee the engineering teams.
At the start of each project, you will work closely with clients to understand operational needs and translate them into effective technical solutions. You will define the functional design, determine the technical operation of the sorting systems, and ensure compliance with safety requirements and CE marking standards. You will document designs using industry‑specific 3D modelling software and functional specifications.
You will also analyse test and acceptance results to continuously improve future system designs. This role offers a high level of variety, combining technical leadership, customer interaction, coordination and problem‑solving across multiple projects in an international environment.
This role involves international travel to client sites approximately once a month.
Our organisation offers the opportunity to make a visible impact while working in an agile environment. We offer 33 vacation days, a solid pension plan, travel allowance, training budget, healthy fruit @Work, hybrid working and social events with colleagues. A versatile, challenging and varied role where you will design, coordinate, organise, optimise and develop projects independently. You will join an enthusiastic and collaborative team within an informal and flexible organisation focused on continued growth.
