IAI industrial systems is part of HID Global, a subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY.
The System Engineer works with the SDI development teams to develop and maintain an architecture for SDI’s products and processes and translates that architecture into optimal solutions, using electronic, software and mechanical capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead determination system architecture for new products and processes to be developed, combining electronics, mechanics and software
- Translate and implement the architecture into concepts and solutions
- Stay on top of new technologies and apply where needed to IAI processes and products
- Translate roadmap and customer demand into future-proof concepts and architecture of new systems and units.
- Recording and monitoring system specifications.
- In collaboration with Product Marketing, use vision on technology and systems development to create a long-term roadmap.
- Support product marketing in discussions with customers about future developments
Projects
- Leading a multidisciplinary Engineering project team.
- Challenging the team to create creative and reliable solutions.
- Support estimation of required resources and budgets and monitor progress.
- Reviewing design and validation of prototypes, so that they are in line with requirements and architecture.
Primary Duties
- Supporting the Sales department during the sales process by explaining new concepts and prototypes to launching customers.
- Translating customer feedback into concept changes.
Communication
- Communication takes place in Dutch and English.
- Communicate with a multidisciplinary Engineering (project) team and challenge the team to create creative and reliable solutions.
- Communicate with Product Marketing and Sales about the vision on technology and system development.
- Discuss with customers about future developments and translate customer feedback into concept changes.
Jurisdiction
- Identifying and escalating when concepts do not fit within the system architecture.
- Making decisions within the project team regarding Engineering projects.
- Make proposals to Teamleader Engineering NPI regarding the system architecture for new products and processes to be developed.
Responsibility
- Co-responsible for a durable system architecture.
- Responsible for a consistent implementation of the determined architectures.
- Translate the vision on technology and system development into a long-term roadmap.
- Leading a multidisciplinary Engineering project team.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Leadership and people management skills
- Experience in system design
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High-tech or optical systems experience
- International environment exposure
- Process improvement knowledge
Work Requirements
- Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
- Travel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required. Therefore, employee must possess, or be able to acquire a valid passport.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which you are hired.
