Job summary

HID is looking for a Product Manager in Noord-Brabant, Netherlands, to oversee the product lifecycle from development to market introduction. The role involves understanding target users, defining product strategies, and collaborating with engineering and sales to ensure successful product launches.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Understanding the market & target end users served by IAI products—including centralised card & passport personalisation and relevant integrators and issuing authorities.
  • Following market trends and technology to stay aligned with current and future needs.
  • Performing VOCs and turning insights into product requirements with actionable outcomes.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the ID market, competition, users, and relevant technology.
  • Acting as the expert on the intent behind new products and features.
  • Owning and maintaining the product descriptions, GTM strategy, positioning, and EOL strategies.
  • Co‑defining pricing/licensing strategies with sales and SC using value‑based pricing.
  • Fostering a culture of innovation and building strong inter‑department collaboration.
  • Attending industry events and customer sites.
  • Collaborating with partners and industry bodies.
  • Aligning on bids and tenders.
  • Developing the product strategy and roadmap in conjunction with sales, PMM, and engineering; owning, driving, and maintaining the agreed roadmap within the IAI development framework for new ideas and innovation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Playing an active part of the PPI process, working with PMM & ENG to define technical feasibility, commercial need, and business priority for innovations and ideas.
  • Defining upcoming releases for IAI products with ENG within the NPI PCP process and supporting ENG to develop new products and features; following up on development until validation and first use at customers.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of products (CPI) and collaborating on the change control board (CCB) and strategy for obsolescence and EOL planning.
  • Supporting the RFQ process for new functionality and features to align with current product developments, and defining special requests within customer projects in collaboration with project management, sales, and ENG.
  • Supporting the application for WBSO funding linked to new innovative products, in collaboration with engineering and finance departments.
  • Being responsible for end‑to‑end lifecycle of IAI products—from initial development and market introduction to eventual decline or withdrawal.
  • Defining business cases for new products.
  • Working with cross‑functional teams including PMM, engineering, sales, and central UX team.
  • Discussing and collaborating with ENG team leaders and DOE on roadmap projects and progress.
  • Working in an agile environment and continuously reviewing business needs, refining priorities, outlining deliverables, capturing and managing data.
  • Informing stakeholders appropriately on product vision, strategy, features, and prioritisation.
  • Partnering with sales for correct product messaging, go‑to‑market, and value‑based pricing.
  • Translating roadmap features into requirements, including user stories and acceptance test criteria.
  • Prioritising and maintaining the product backlog for assigned products in discussion with ENG based on project needs.
  • Serving as the voice of the customer in developing, validating, and testing products.
  • Leading the GTM plan and ensuring that marketing and sales have what they need to succeed.
  • Supporting sales, marketing with customers and presence at events to promote products.
  • Developing and maintaining tracking and reporting of product performance after launch and evaluating future investment and ROI.
  • Working with HID legal for IP‑related claims and submissions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Greater than 3 years of identity industry experience.
  • At least 4 years in product management or product development & NPI.
  • Proficient in English; additional languages (Dutch, Spanish, Italian) advantageous.
  • Experience launching products or services in partnership with engineering teams.
  • High proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, and agile approach.
  • Existing experience with IAI products and services.
  • Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with customer‑first thinking.
  • Proactive, self‑starter with excellent product‑management skills.
  • Ability to manage a wide portfolio with multiple product lines.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to engage, influence, and inspire through storytelling.
  • High organization, ownership, initiative, and personal accountability.
  • Proactive mindset, eager to learn and develop, open to feedback.
  • Analytical approach to interpreting customer data and user needs.
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder communication.
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with JIRA & JIRA Product Discovery.
  • Experience with value‑based pricing techniques.
  • Strong writing and structured thinking skills; ability to create clear requirements (e.g., PRDs, user stories, decision documentation).
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills, aligning sales, engineering, and marketing when priorities compete.
  • Data‑driven product‑management approach, including analytics, KPI definition, dashboarding, and experimentation/A‑B testing.
