West 8, a design agency in Rotterdam, seeks a System Administrator to join the team in person. You will support workplace operations, manage networks, deploy software, and help maintain cutting-edge ICT practices across a multidisciplinary studio.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in a similar role, strong English skills, and an interest in 3D design tech. Dutch language is a plus. This is an on-site position at Rijnhaven waterfront in Rotterdam with a dynamic international team.

West 8 is an industry-leading design agency working across the fields of urban planning, landscape architecture and infrastructure. Headquartered in Rotterdam, and with offices in Belgium and North America, our multidisciplinary team works on projects that transform spaces all over the world.

West 8 is looking for a System Administrator to join our Rotterdam team (in-person).

Our ideal candidate is a dynamic problem solver, able to quickly adapt to new challenges, changes and technologies and has extensive experience in internal end-user support within an organisation. Are you the person we are looking for?

About the position

ICT is a fundamental pillar in West 8’s design processes. Our team of designers, artists and engineers employ a large suite of digital tools to research, sketch, draw, model, calculate and communicate internally and to our global clientele. As our System Administrator, you play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly, enabling our team to perform at its best at all times. Your role is to advise on the continuous development and maintenance practices of the company’s network, working stations and implementation of software. In addition, you will play an active role in maintaining and proposing new standards of cutting-edge technologies.

Daily tasks include: workplace management and support; monitoring services and backups; storage management and reporting; software deployment and management; reprographics supply and maintenance; and documentation/administration.

Requirements

3 – 5 years of experience in a similar position.
(Please note – prior experience in an Architecture office is not a requirement, but a plus)
Excellent communication skills – you’re easy to get along with and enjoy helping others.
Reliability, flexibility, and ability to switch easily between tasks.
Ability to manage time, work independently, and prioritise work under sometimes stressful conditions.
Excellent knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of the Dutch language is preferred but not a requirement.
