Job summary

Mars Food & Nutrition is seeking a Sustainability Open Innovation & Technology Lead in the Netherlands to identify, develop, and scale next-gen sustainable packaging solutions. You’ll connect external ecosystems with internal priorities and translate tech into real-world impact across our portfolio.

You’ll build partnerships with startups, universities, and industry leaders while collaborating with Packaging R&D, Sustainability, Regulatory, Engineering, and Commercial teams to bring future-ready

Qualifications

• Degree in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in Packaging R&D, Sustainability, or Open Innovation.
• Experience evaluating and implementing packaging innovations.
• Experience managing external partnerships and supplier collaborations.
• Strong understanding of recyclability and circular economy.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize emerging packaging technologies and partners.
• Lead sustainability-focused packaging projects from concept to execution.
• Build external collaborations with startups, universities, and suppliers.
• Scale new technologies across Mars sites and external partners.
