Job summary

Redevco seeks an experienced Senior Sustainability Manager to lead operational sustainability across a pan-European portfolio and redevelopment projects. You will align with Investment Directors on ambitious net-zero goals, develop roadmaps, and integrate sustainability into asset plans.

Responsibilities include energy optimization, building certifications, data management, reporting to investors and regulators, and coordinating with asset managers, tenants, and suppliers to drive measurable ESG

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in real estate sustainability, building operations, energy management, or ESG/ sustainability consulting.
• Strong understanding of European real estate markets and cross-border operational challenges.
• Technical knowledge of building systems, carbon accounting, energy optimisation, and sustainability certifications.
• Experience with ESG data platforms and building analytics tools.
• Ability to influence diverse stakeholders across multiple countries and cultures.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operational Sustainability strategy delivery for both standing assets and redevelopment projects; engage with Investment Directors to set sustainability ambitions.
• Support development and implementation of net zero carbon and decarbonisation roadmaps.
• Implement sustainability initiatives across the operating portfolio; align with fund-level strategies and net-zero pathways.
• Support the transaction team and oversee sustainability due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions.
• Oversee energy optimisation, building performance improvements, and carbon-reduction programmes across Europe.
• Oversee management of certification processes (e.g., BREEAM, DGNB, LEED, WELL, NABERS) and continuous improvement.
• Supplier engagement to embed sustainability KPIs into contracts and operations.
• Frequent reporting on project progress; resolve obstacles and prioritise decisions.
• Contribute to internal training and awareness programmes for sustainability integration.
• EU regulatory alignment and climate risk assessments integrated into asset plans.
• Lead sustainability data management and operational reporting for investors and regulators.
• Support deployment of metering, monitoring, and building analytics tools.
• Asset manager & development manager partnership; tenant engagement; industry representation.
• Measurable reductions in energy use and carbon emissions across the portfolio.
