Vopak offers a Safety & Sustainability Intern role bridging chemical engineering and software development. You will lead an investigative project applying core thermodynamics and data analytics to enhance the VPC and VOC processes.

Based in Rotterdam with a hybrid model (32-40 hours), the internship provides hands-on experience in integrating chemical property data into the VPC API and working with global teams.

Formación

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (HBO) in the Netherlands.
• Strong understanding of physical chemistry, thermodynamics and vapor pressure.
• Proficient English communication, written and verbal.
• Analytical mindset with interest in data structures and databases.
• Independent problem-solver comfortable navigating chemical property data.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze Global Product List and VOC calculator mappings.
• Compile Antoine constants and molar masses using NIST.
• Research methods to represent chemical properties of complex compounds.
• Suggest a structured implementation for VPC DevOps to add fields.
• Outline steps to update the in-house VOC calculator to read new VPC data.
• Validate the new properties against VOC and VPC lists before deployment.
