Job summary

Aquablu is seeking an experienced procurement professional to own the category end-to-end from Amsterdam. You will read technical packs, negotiate with suppliers, and build credible alternatives to avoid single-source risk.

You will question designs for cost-down opportunities, qualify suppliers, and manage RFQs, audits, and negotiations early in product development. Fluency in English is required and on-site presence in Amsterdam four days a week.

Qualifications

• Four years or more in procurement, buying engineered parts in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Read a technical drawing and hold a real conversation with an engineer about tolerances, finishes and production methods.
• Hands-on experience procuring across machining, casting, sheet metal, moulding, electro-mechanical assembly.
• Should-cost or teardown modelling experience.
• Savings you can point to and explain (spec, process, supplier, volume, or terms).
• End-to-end procurement with autonomy and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the category end to end: source and qualify suppliers, negotiate, set agreements, build credible alternatives.
• Drive the commercial funnel on new product development: RFQs, audits, qualification, and negotiation early in design.
• Define should-cost, challenge designs for cost-down opportunities, and work with Engineering.
• Interrogate lead time and capacity, break down subcomponents to identify real vs padding vs external factors.
• Negotiate terms including tooling ownership, MOQ, batch sizing, change control, and payment terms.
