Role description

As our Group continues to solidify its position as a leading pan-European distributor, we are looking to hire a Strategic Sales Manager to cover the Benelux/Switzerland region and focus primarily on two specialty product areas: Cell & Gene therapy, and Biospecimens. The Strategic Sales Manager role will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering sales strategy and process designed to build the commercial pipeline for high-value sales and service deals within commercial (pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, CDMO) customers in the Benelux and Switzerland region.
  • Maintaining a detailed technical understanding of the Europa Biosite product portfolio (particularly focusing on the Cell & Gene Therapy and Biospecimens business lines) and developing high-value business proposals aligned with customer research pipelines and requirements.
  • Developing our market presence for high-value strategic sales with our Benelux/Switzerland region customer base, focusing on significant revenue recognition within existing customer accounts, as well as onboarding of new accounts. Working with the local sales teams in Sanbio (Benelux) and Lubio (Switzerland) to ensure revenue growth.
  • Collaborating with the Group Product Management and Marketing teams to drive market awareness and uptake of the Groups’ products and services in the context of high-value strategic sales.
  • Attending conferences, trade shows, and specialty congresses, leveraging commercial networks to create and maintain a healthy pipeline of commercial opportunities.
Qualifications/capabilities
  • Significant sales experience and a proven track record of closing high value (six-figure and above) commercial deals for specialty reagents with commercial clients.
  • Ability to effectively apply relevant sales methodologies (e.g. Miller Heiman Strategic Selling) to opportunity identification, advancement, and closing.
  • An excellent network of key stakeholders, opinion leaders, and decision makers in the (bio)pharmaceutical and contract research client space in the designated region.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, and close high-value sales deals in the context of complex procurement environments and sales cycles.
  • A strong technical background that enables understanding of scientific methods and techniques in discovery research, and how these fit with customer product choices (particularly focusing on Cell & Gene Therapy and Biospecimens).
  • An understanding of GMP requirements and how they fit into discovery research and customer product considerations/choices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively with different functions of the business and senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM usage.
