Job summary

NATO in Norfolk, Virginia, relocation supported with a NATO-5 visa, coordinates multinational defence partnerships and prepares policy and senior engagements. You will develop briefings, track activities, and ensure information sharing with security policy adherence.

You will travel up to about thirty days per year. A postgraduate degree and fluent English are required for this long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in international relations, international security, international development, or military studies.
• Experience in foreign affairs, international security, international cooperation or defence.
• Experience in alliance structures or defence ministries.
• Working knowledge of partnerships, security sector reform, defence capacity building, or defence planning.
• Experience drafting for and briefing senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to partnerships branch outputs and coordination rhythm.
• Act as central contact for partnership strands across directorates.
• Develop briefings, reports, and decision-support products for senior leadership.
• Develop and review policies, directives, concepts, and procedures for military partnerships.
• Identify, coordinate and track activities, programmes of work, exercises and engagements.
• Maintain corporate memory, information management, and QA.
• Ensure activities and information sharing follow security policy.
• Prepare and execute key leader engagements with background papers and talking points.
• Travel to meetings and events up to ~30 days per year.
