In Doesburg, more than 150 employees work on the development and production of high-tech machines for the poultry industry. Experienced engineers, technicians, mechanics, and operators work together in multidisciplinary teams to find innovative solutions. We supply smart, reliable, and animal-friendly solutions with high food safety.

Who we are looking for

As a strategic buyer at BAADER, you are focused on optimizing the purchasing process. Based on the current purchasing policy, you have an advisory role towards the management in Doesburg and the international purchasing organization. As a strategic buyer, you follow the price-quality developments in materials, semi-finished products and end products and you conduct research within the supplier market to be able to rank suppliers into the A, B and C categories. You visit suppliers and can give a substantiated opinion about the quality of their production system and their products in comparison with the total supplier field. Based on risks and analyses of delivery reliability, you write advice on strategic choices for the purchasing policy.

As a strategic buyer, you have the following tasks:

Advice

• Making proposals to optimize the purchasing process
• Drawing up budgets based on the purchasing package.
• Advising internal departments on material selection and product prices based on preliminary calculations.

Purchasing

• Purchasing (or having purchased) materials and products based on internal purchasing orders with drawings and specifications.
• Requesting and assessing quotations.
• Drawing up and negotiating purchasing contracts with international suppliers.
• Handling complaints/claims towards suppliers about quality and agreements made.
• Realizing established performance based on KPIs with regard to purchasing policy.

Management

• Assessing and ranking suppliers on delivery reliability, failure, rejection, audits and financial stability.
• Assessing and managing current contracts.
• Planning supplier changes and ensuring administrative recording.
• Reporting to the Head of Strategic Purchasing BAADER Poultry;

As a strategic buyer, you are the driving force behind the department; you involve both operational buyers in your department in your way of thinking and plan of action.

Who you are

• Minimum bachelor work and thinking level.

• More than 5 years of work experience as a strategic buyer within a production organization, preferably a machine builder.

• Result-oriented and proactive attitude based on and driven by KPIs.

• Great sense of responsibility and ability to advise on large investments in production.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English (C2).

• Experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system.

• Entrepreneurial attitude and excellent communication skills.
