Erasmus MC in Rotterdam seeks a consultant staff surgeon within the HPB & Transplant Surgery division of the Department of Surgery. The ideal candidate has particular expertise in transplantation surgery, including liver and kidney transplantation, living donor kidney procurement, and deceased donor multi-organ procurement.

You will participate in on-call rotas, actively contribute to transplant and HPB MDTs, and be involved in perioperative and outpatient care.

Qualifications

• Expertise in transplantation surgery, including liver and kidney transplantation.
• Experience with living donor kidney procurement and deceased donor multi-organ procurement.
• Willingness to participate in MDTs and perioperative/outpatient care.
• Leading role in scientific research, especially kidney transplantation and machine perfusion technologies.

As a consultant staff surgeon, you will work within the HPB & Transplant Surgery division of the Department of Surgery. In addition to liver and kidney transplantation, this division performs complex (oncological) liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic (HPB) procedures.

As a consultant staff surgeon, you will work within the HPB & Transplant Surgery division of the Department of Surgery. In addition to liver and kidney transplantation, this division performs complex (oncological) liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic (HPB) procedures.

We are seeking a surgeon with particular expertise in transplantation surgery. This includes liver and kidney transplantation, living donor kidney procurement, and deceased donor multi-organ procurement procedures performed through the regionally operating independent organ retrieval team. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the care of patients undergoing HPB surgery.

You will participate in the on-call rota, actively contribute to transplant and HPB multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs), and be involved in perioperative and outpatient care. In addition to your clinical responsibilities within the division, you may contribute to broader departmental activities such as education and training. You are expected to take a leading role in scientific research, particularly within kidney transplantation surgery, including research related to machine perfusion technologies.
